CES 2017: at the international electronics and technology trade show in las vegas, LG presents its ‘levitating portable speaker’, which mesmerizingly hovers over the accompanying levitation station whilst delivering high quality audio. using wireless technology, the device allows users to seamlessly play music, podcasts and other audio content simultaneously through two bluetooth-enabled electronics. dubbed as the ‘model PJ9’, the futuristic product features a striking appearance that blends the soft curves of the floating speaker with the sculptured lines of the ground station.

the LG ‘levitating speaker’, on show at the CES 2017 from january 3rd to 8th, floats using powerful electromagnets that are housed within the levitation speaker. this technology enables the audio device to entrancingly drift above the ground without being connected to any wires or structures. at its center is a 360 degree omnidirectional speaker with a turbine blade-inspired design, and a deep bass is provided through a subwoofer embedded inside the levitation station. to deliver even more exceptional sounds, the product includes dual passive radiator technology that recreates flush mid-range and crisp high tones.
as the 10- battery of the levitating speaker runs low, the device automatically descends to the ground station where it begins to wirelessly recharge itself. conveniently, whilst re-energizing takes place, there is no interruption with the music so users can continue to enjoy its quality audio. additionally, the LG product can be used indoors or outdoors, withstanding any adverse weather conditions with a rating of IPX7.
